At the first home game of the 2012 Houston County High School football season, Signature HealthCARE and the Houston County Lions Club teamed up to give one lucky person a chance to win $200.
Stamped on a page of the football program sold by the Lions Club was a red character and date of the game. At half-time the announcer asked fans to check their programs and the person finding the character should report to the field for an opportunity to kick a field goal and win $200 donated by Signature Health Care.
Ray Elliot was the contestant and gave it a try but the football hit the crossbar and bounced back into the field. As a consolation prize, he received a $50 gift certificate to Southernaire Restaurant.
On Friday, August 31, Peggy Black bought the lucky program and had Tyler Hammond attempt the field goal from the 25 yard line; it was good.
Because the game was homecoming, the Kick for Cash prize was $300.
For the rest of the home games, the prize will be $200.
